Week 02 [2025/11/22-2025/11/28]

Every Monday, the CERESE publishes the assessment of the previous week’s news by the Research Trainees:
_
The most important event of the week is the resignation of Andriy Yermak, a high-ranking official of the Ukrainian government. Yermak, who is the Chief of Staff of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, handed his resignation on November 28th due to his alleged involvement in a corruption scandal. Yermak and other members of the Ukrainian government are reportedly suspected of accepting bribes from contractors of the state-owned nuclear energy company Energoatom and laundering approximately one hundred million dollars. This is a crucial development, as President Zelenskyy had appointed Yermak to lead the negotiations with the United States on the 28-point peace plan of Donald Trump for Ukraine.
